Our story

Why We Created TRI

The Trauma Rehab Institute was created after years of working within specialist trauma rehabilitation services in Greater Manchester.

During that time, we saw first-hand both what high-quality, joined-up trauma care can achieve, and how inconsistent access to that level of support can be. The rehabilitation response following the Manchester Arena attack demonstrated what is possible when services are coordinated and properly resourced. But our continued work with the wider trauma population made something else clear: access to that level of care was not the norm.

Too many people were left navigating recovery with limited structure, inconsistent advice, and little clarity about what effective rehabilitation should actually look like.

TRI was built to help address that gap.

Our aim is to make structured, realistic recovery guidance more accessible beyond geographical boundaries - not as a replacement for the NHS or existing clinical services, but as a complementary platform designed to extend knowledge, reduce fragmentation, and improve outcomes.
